1" X 30" SANDING BELTS FOR STOCK REMOVAL

Our 1" x 30" stock removal ceramic belts are ultra durable and long lasting. These are the best belts money can buy for hogging steel and stainless steel! These are very common belts for harbor freight 1 x 30 machines but can be used on any 1" x 30" belt sander. We stock grits 24, 36, 40, 60, 80 & 120 in our premium #shredder ceramic material.

WHAT IS STOCK REMOVAL?

Stock Removal is one of the methods used to create a basic blade shape. Stock removal involves cutting and sanding away parts of a steel or metal blank to a desired shape and size.

WHAT ARE CERAMIC SHREDDER BELTS?

Ceramic Shredder belts come in an orange/reddish color, typical of ceramic grains. The grain structure of these belts provides continuous renewal of the most consistent and uniform cutting edges. The nature of ceramic grain allows for faster cutting and cooler stock removal. They are adhered to a Y-Weight backing. A backing material's thickness (related to its flexibility) is categorized by the alphabet. Backings closer or rated as 'A' are substantially more flexible than the stiffest 'Y' weight backing you'll find on our site. Backings with an 'A', 'B', 'C', 'D', 'E', or 'F' backing are all considered paper backings. 'E' and 'F' weight backings are typically used to make belts as they are the most durable paper backings available (typically found in the wood industry) though still much less durable/thick than the full or partial synthetic backings like an 'X' or 'Y' weight. Typically various 'X' and 'Y' weight backings are used in metal working as the standard. Y weights are very sturdy and typically full synthetic poly materials versus some 'X' weights often being a cotton-poly blend material to allow for greater flexibility. J Flex refers to an even greater flexible backing material that is often used without a contact wheel and some slack in the belt so it can softly contour rounder shapes (e.g. a wooden handle).

The combat abrasive 40, 80, 120 grits are game changers. Ive used all kinds of box store belts with decent results but these belts from Combat Abrasives are durable and aggressively accurate toward removing material. I will make my belt purchase with from these guys from now on.

LOVE the ceramic Shredder belts. I have a little 1x30" Harbor Freight grinder, and with these belts it punches WAY above its weight. I used to buy Harbor Freight belts for it. They're about $3 for a 2-pack. These are about $3 per belt, but last more than twice as long and remove material significantly faster. All in all, a much better deal.

Fantastic tool! it really is kind of like using a finer sandpaper on a piece of hardwood. the belts do throw off a good bit of debris on the top side of my old craftsman 1"x 30" belt sander, but the results are hard to beat. i would recommend more than safety glasses though. a full face respirator is easy enough to get used to when the belts do as much work as these things do. between the heat generated, and the work accomplished, you cant stand at the grinder long enough to get tired of wearing the respirator.

I have a large wood mill and the band saw blades once they are all used up they get tossed. My oldest by and I thought they would make great filet knives. This was our first attempt and wow, the belt made it through in no time and in 10 minutes we had a roughed in filet knife. Just need to order some finer grit to finish it off and on to hardening. Great all around product!
